Grandy Mina Anak Mihin of SMK St. Joseph won second prize in the Form 6 category of the essay competition. The competition was held in 2014 and the result was announced on the 25th March 2015. Her essay entitled PeranandanSumbangan Border Scouts di Daerah Bau, Sarawak Sebelum dan Selepas Kemerdekaan was submitted with the guidance of teacher-in-charge Madam Goh Tjui Lian.
Another student, Chua Chuan Yi also obtained second place in the Upper Secondary Category. Mentored by teacher-in-charge Mr Cheng Chau Voon, he submitted an essay entitled Brooke Dockyard: Dahulu kala hingga kini.
A group entry by Jerrie Tan Ted Hian, Muhammad A`izat Iskandar B. Mohamad Shafi`an Kamal and Ting Ung kai managed to capture a consolation prize in the Lower Secondary Category. They received a cheque of RM200.
Grandy and Chua will receive their prizes on the 13th July 2015 during a special function in Kuala Lumpur.
