President's Message

Dear Ex-Josephians,

Welcome to the website of Josephian Alumni a.k.a Old Josephian Association of Kuching. Our alma mater, like our home formed a base during which we have spent very many years learning, growing, maturing and developing into independent individuals. Now that we are reaping the fruits of our earlier labour, let us not forget our sentimental ties with the past.

Take a peep down memory lane and I am sure all of you will recall the good times (and the bad times which you will probably laugh about) and having your share of lively lessons, class camaraderie and respectful rapport in the Josephian community. It is important that we stay connected to re-live the good old values of the past. The alumni thus forms a network through which our Josephian culture and spirit can remain alive and pristine. We would like to appeal for more membership and involvement from ex-Josephians who in great numbers will render greater service to our alma mater.

We hope through the website, we can share with you of the current activities of the school, the ex-Josephians, the various related organisations under one portal and just one click away.

It is our objectives to build the alumni for life and to engage in philanthropic mission to help the school in whichever way we can and within our means. The call for support is imperative at this moment as we see mounting costs amidst rapid changes in our education field. St Joseph`s being only a government-aided school inevitably needs support of all sorts. To that end, we can be actively involved in school events and programmes which will benefit the Josephian community.

This year sees the celebration of St Joseph`s 131st Anniversary; the second oldest La Salle Brother School in Malaysia. The school administration, the current students and some old boys have sat down to discuss viable ideas on the celebration which spans the whole year (1 event per month). Let’s get reconnected and get involved with the school`s 48 clubs and societies as well as the thousands of ex-Josephians all over the world to champion the cause of consolidated effort.. Programmes which can be assimilated into the curriculum and extra-curricular are largely favoured by all. The celebration will culminate in an elaborate reunion dinner for ex-Josephians end of the year.

Let us not just bring up the subject of reunions at chanced encounters or exchanges, but work enthusiastically towards realizing it.

JOIN US AND STAY CONNECTED!

Ora et Labora.
