The St Joseph`s Secondary School (SJS) Kuching marching band emerged as champion in Group III A (rpt Group III A) in the USBands Yamaha Cup 2015 held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, United States on Saturday (Sunday in Malaysia).
SJS Marching Band scored 90.100 points over first runner-up East Brunswick High School (79.538) and second runner-up Kittatinny Regional High School (78.625), according to the competition official website yea.org/programs/usbands.
According to the website, St Joseph`s Secondary School marching band also won Best Colour Guard; Best Music; Best Overall Effect; Best Percussion and Best Visual awards.
SJS was the only band from outside the United States that took part in the USBands Yamaha Cup, the annual competition for American high school marching bands.
